GRAND PRIZE WINNER:

ISMAEL MARIANO

"News at 10:  Family"
___________________________________________

"News At 10" chronicles the lives of the men and women who work for  big city newsroom, KNOW. The pilot episode, "FAMILY" follows the aging news director who has to welcome the 30-something general manager to the station. The news director, DENMARK STEVENSON won't say it out loud, but, he feels that he should have gotten the job, not RYAN REDDING...but, when you're the son of a media mogul, you can do whatever you want. Ryan lives that out, when on his first day, he announces that he has stolen STEPHANIE MONTOYA, the top anchor in town away from their arch-rival station.

Ismael "IZZY" Mariano was born in a log cabin just outside Compton, California back in 1972. After teaching himself to read by light of a fireplace, Izzy went on to graduate from Azusa Pacific University, with a bachelors degree in Communication.

Wanting to see the world, he ran away and joined the circus. To his surprise, it wasn't actually a circus, instead it was a local station for a major network. Izzy started out as a page, but, he worked his way up to news librarian. After learning the news biz, he moved on to become a full-time news writer. Not content to write about news, Izzy wants to become news. "NEWS AT 10" is his first venture into television. In addition to winning the American Accolades TV Writing Competition, Izzy has been honored as a finalist in the Acclaim TV contest, Scriptapalooza Tv, and Square Magazine TV contests. Izzy is single and lives in Southern California.
